Meet the team!
Alison Bowden, CEO and Founder
Alison, a native Portlandian, is currently an undergraduate at Oregon State University. She's studying electrical and computer engineering with a minor in physics and computer science and has been coding since 4th grade. Her past projects include 4 technical computer science internships, most notably working summers at Rockwell Collins and Intel. She has recently received the Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activities (URSA) award and now participates in research at Oregon State. In addition to working on Wellio, Alison also is researching a project entitled "Machine Learning for Structural Health Monitoring: Methods for Robust Damage Detection in Aircraft Panels" and will present her findings at the URSA symposium in October.
After seeing her friends experience struggles with mental illness as well as living with it herself, Alison is passionate about creating an app that will help people living with mental illness not just survive, but thrive in all aspects of wellness.
Houston Morgan, CFO and Co-Partner
Houston Morgan, originally from the coast of Southern California, is an undergraduate at Arizona State University studying Business Communications with a minor in Business Management. In his free time he loves to longboard and play the tuba, sometimes at the same time. He has been involved with start up businesses since freshman year of high school. Houston has had numerous business internships with a wide variety of groups, the most notable being his time with The Golden State Pops Orchestra as a Stage Manager and coordinator. Community engagement and service are important aspects of Houston’s life and he attributes much of his success and variety of life experiences to the support of the community he grew up in.
Having had personal exposure to the effects of a lack in mental health awareness and care in the community he was raised in, he has devoted his efforts towards growing and developing Wellio with the goal of improving the lives of people across the country.
